Roles and permissions
What owners, admins, members and guests can do in settings, projects, Docs, cards and contacts, and how guests work inside one project.
On this page
Everyone in a workspace has a role: owner, admin, member or guest. You choose it when you invite someone, and an owner or admin can change it in Settings → Members. To invite people, see Invite your team.

A member who creates a project becomes its owner and can manage it.
Who sees a project
Projects are private to the people inside them:
Owners and admins see every project.
Members see the projects of their teams and the ones they're added to.
Guests only see the projects they're invited to, and only the people in them.
Inside a project, each person can edit or view and comment. Change it from the project's Share button.
Guests: clients and partners
A guest is someone from outside your team, like a client following one project. Guests:
See only their projects and the people in them. They don't see teams, Cards, contacts or the Wiki.
Can comment, be assigned to tasks and complete the tasks assigned to them.
Can see and comment on the Docs pages of their project.
Can't create or edit tasks, upload files or invite anyone.
Good to know
A workspace always has at least one owner. To pass it on, use Transfer ownership in Settings → General (you stay as admin).
Private Docs pages are only for their author and the people they share them with, whatever their role.
