Trash and deleting your account
Restore deleted projects, tasks, cards, QR codes and Docs pages for 30 days, delete things forever, and delete your account on the web or in the Zolu app.
On this page
The Trash
When you delete a project, a task, a card, a QR code or a Docs page, it goes to the Trash first. It stays there 30 days, and then it's deleted for good.
Open Settings → Trash to see it. Each item says who deleted it, when, and how many days are left.
Restore brings it back where it was. A project comes back with all its tasks, and a page with the pages inside it.
Delete forever removes it right away, files included. Only owners and admins can do it, and it can't be undone.
Who sees what in the Trash:
You see what you're able to restore: tasks of projects you can edit, and projects you manage.
A private Docs page is only seen (and restored) by its author, not even by the owner.
While a card is in the Trash, its zolu.me address stays reserved for you, and the page says the card is no longer available. Restoring it needs room in your plan.
Delete your account
Open Settings → Security and scroll to Delete my account. Read What happens before you start:
Your profile, photo, preferences and sessions are deleted, and you leave every workspace.
Your private Docs pages are deleted. Tap Download my private pages (.zip) to keep a copy first.
Your personal cards are deleted right away and stop opening on zolu.me. Their zolu.me names stay blocked for 90 days.
Your team cards are turned off without your name, photo, phone or email.
What you made for your team (tasks, comments, shared pages, company cards and Link pages, contacts) stays in its workspace, without your name.
If you're the only owner of a workspace
A workspace can't be left without an owner. Zolu shows First, decide what happens to these workspaces. For each one, choose:
Transfer it to another member, or
Delete the workspace (everything inside is deleted for everyone).
Confirm
Tap Delete my account.
Tap Email me the code. Zolu sends a 6-digit code to your email. It expires in 15 minutes.
Type your email and the 6-digit code.
Tap Delete my account forever.
This can't be undone. To use Zolu again later, you'll create a new account.
From the Zolu app
You can also delete your account from the Zolu app on your phone:
Open the All tab and tap Account. You can also get there by tapping your name or photo at the top.
Tap Delete account, the last row, in red.
On Delete your account, type your email in Type your email to confirm and tap Email me a code. Zolu sends a 6-digit code to your email. It expires in 15 minutes.
Type the 6-digit code and tap Delete my account.
When it's done, the app says Your account was deleted. and signs you out.
If you're the only owner of a workspace, the app shows "You're the only owner of … Transfer or delete those spaces on the web first." Tap Open on the web, follow the steps in If you're the only owner of a workspace above, and then come back to the app.
What's deleted, and when
It's the same whether you delete your account on the web or in the app:
Right away: your profile, your private pages and your personal cards. Your name, photo, phone and email are removed from any team cards.
90 days: your zolu.me addresses stay blocked so nobody else can take them and pretend to be you. Zolu keeps only the address and the date.
Stays in its workspace: what you created for your team (tasks, comments, shared pages, company cards and contacts), no longer linked to your account.
Paid orders: Zolu keeps only what tax law requires (order number and dates, products, quantities and amounts, tax, payment reference, and the city, state, postal code and country of delivery). Your name, email, street address and engraving are removed.
Within 30 days: any other personal information is deleted or anonymized, except where Zolu must keep it for legal reasons.
Backups: deleted data and files may remain in encrypted backups for up to 8 days before they are deleted.
