Steps and ready rewards

Give more than one reward on a stamps card: each step becomes a ready reward the customer redeems when they want, and the card starts over by itself.

With steps, a stamps card gives more than one reward. At Café Lumbre: at stamp 5 the customer picks coffee, dessert or gelato, and at stamp 10 they get $10 off.

How it works

  • When a customer reaches a step, that reward goes to their Ready rewards.

  • They redeem it whenever they want, before it expires. They can keep collecting stamps meanwhile, and even pass the next step.

  • A ready reward lasts the days you chose in Ready rewards last (days) (90 by default). After that, it expires.

  • At the last step the card starts over by itself. Extra stamps carry over to the new card. The card never gets stuck.

  • Redeeming a reward doesn't add a stamp, and it doesn't take stamps away.

What the customer sees

On their card:

  • their stamps, with a gift icon on each step;

  • how many stamps are left, like "1 stamp to go";

  • Ready rewards, with "Until" and the date. If they can pick, the card shows the options.

At the register

  1. Scan the card or type its code, then tap Check.

  2. To give a stamp, tap Add stamp. If this stamp reaches a step, you'll see Reward ready!

  3. To redeem, look at Ready rewards. If the reward has options, tap the one the customer wants (like Gelato), then tap Redeem.

You can redeem even when the card can't get another stamp yet ("Already added recently").

If something's off, the register tells you:

  • Pick which option they want. Tap an option first.

  • That reward was already redeemed.

  • That reward expired.

Good to know

  • Each card's code changes after every use. If you see "That code was already used", ask the customer to show the card again.

  • Steps don't apply if the program shows Square Loyalty points (mirror mode). See Show your Square Loyalty points on the Zolu card.
