Import from Trello or a CSV
Bring your projects from a Trello board or a spreadsheet (Excel, Google Sheets, Asana, Monday) and check a preview before anything is created.
On this page
Moving to Zolu doesn't mean starting over. Bring your work from a Trello board or any CSV file (Excel, Google Sheets, Asana, Monday…). You'll see a preview first, and nothing is created until you confirm.
Before you start
Open Projects and tap Import.
Owners, admins and members can import. Guests can't.
From a CSV file
Prepare one row per task. Zolu recognizes these columns, in English or Spanish: Project, Title, Status, Due date, Assignee email, Labels, Description and Comments.
Not sure about the format? Tap Download example CSV and fill it in.
Under CSV file, tap Choose file.
Each value of Project becomes a project, and each Status becomes a column.
From Trello
In Trello, open the board → Menu → Print, export and share → Export as JSON.
In Zolu, under Trello board, tap Choose file and pick that file.
Lists become columns, cards become tasks, checklists become subtasks, and labels and comments come along.
Check the preview
Before importing you'll see:
Preview: projects, columns and how many tasks, subtasks and comments.
Who is who: match each person to someone in your workspace. With a CSV, Zolu looks for their emails. Trello doesn't export emails, so Zolu suggests people with the same name. You can leave someone Unassigned.
What won't come over: invalid dates, rows without a title, unknown columns and, from Trello, attachments and archived cards.
When it looks right, tap Import N tasks and then Open project.
Good to know
Up to 5,000 tasks and 10 MB per file. For more, split the file.
Projects are created with you as the owner.
Nobody gets "you were assigned" notifications during an import.
Comments come in your name, with a note saying who wrote them originally and when.
Trello attachments don't come in their export: upload them again in Zolu.
If something fails, nothing is created. Try again.
