Scan a business card with AI
Take a photo of a paper business card. Zolu AI reads it, you check the details and save the contact, with a follow-up task if you want.

Got a paper business card? Take a photo and Zolu AI fills in the contact for you: name, title, company, email, phone, website and more. You always check everything before it's saved.
Scan a card
Open the scanner in one of these ways:
In People → Contacts, tap Scan card.
On your phone, tap + in the bottom bar, then Contact → Scan a card.
On Home, tap Scan a card.
Tap Take photo (or Upload image) for the front. Use Add the back (optional) if there's more on the back.
Tap Read this card.
Have more cards? Keep scanning: each card is read while you take the next one.
Tap Review (for example, Review 3 cards) to check the details, one card at a time.
Check and save
For each card you can:
Fix any field: Name, Job title, Company, Email, Phone, Website, Address and social profiles.
Add Tags and a Note (where you met, what you talked about).
Keep Save the photo of the card on. Only your team sees it, and it's deleted with the contact.
Create a follow-up task is on by default (due tomorrow). Change the date or project, or turn it off.
Turn on Email them my card to send them your Zolu card.
Then tap Save contact. If the person might already be in your contacts, Zolu tells you why (same email, phone or name) and lets you Update that contact (for example, Update Emma Brooks) or Save as a new contact.
For the best result, put the card on a plain surface with good light and fill the photo with the card.
How many scans you have
Plan | Scans per month |
|---|---|
Free | 5 |
Pro (available soon) | 200 per workspace |
Business (available soon) | 250 per person in the workspace, shared by the team |
On the Free plan, each person gets 5 scans a month in total across their free workspaces. The scanner shows how many you have left, and scans reset on the 1st of each month. A card the AI couldn't read, or a scan that fails on our side, doesn't use your monthly quota. On the Free plan a workspace can also read up to 10 photos a day (including ones that couldn't be read).
Good to know
The photo is sent to our AI providers (Google and, as a backup, Anthropic) only to read it. Under their paid API terms they don't use it to train their models; they may keep it for a limited time to monitor for abuse.
Scanning a Zolu card (a QR code from zolu.me) doesn't need AI. On your phone, open the QR reader instead (in All, or under People in the menu): it saves the public details of that card as a new contact.
To see only the contacts you scanned, open People on a computer and, under By source, choose Scanned cards.
